Tostadas Bayenita: A Flavorful Beginning
It all began with a very humble man with a strong mind, who was determined to better the life of his family and make very tough decisions. With profound prayer and faith, God picked up his family and began their journey from Mexico to the US, the land of opportunity. Even though we were not an average family, but rather large, our parents, one way or another, would find ways to put food on our table, which is not easy at times.
He would work long hours but still managed to cook for us, sit with us at the dining table with a smile, and yet show no signs of tiredness or weakness. We loved his food. He would tell us that someday he was going to open his little restaurant and everything that he was going to cook would have God's love as the main ingredient. He'd turn to us and smile. When you're a happy kid, you tend to take things for granted until those moments are no longer there. Realization comes into play.
Our father joined the heavens at the age of 43, leaving behind a lingering dream in the world, spinning in slow motion. Almost three decades later, two of his children decided to make his dream come true by opening a heartfelt pop-up dining experience with catering service. They put together a very small and simple menu, yet with that extreme taste and exclusive flavor that make your taste buds go nuts and leave you wanting more.
